The grounds surrounding the Lincoln Memorial were swarmed with people trying to get a glimpse of the speakers at the Restoring Honor rally. Many came early in the morning to claim blanket space in the grass and shouldered up to one another at the gates surrounding the Reflecting Pool. Beck estimated 200,000 people would be listening to him speak, and for the people in the crowd it sure felt like it.
